Why are there so many rumors about this?

A link between premature ejaculation and circumcision performed in childhood is often mentioned. However, this view is not based on scientific research.

Has a scientific link been shown?

No. There is no study showing that circumcision performed in childhood affects premature ejaculation years later. Carrying out such research is also difficult: a child would have to be followed for decades into adulthood. Statements such as “circumcision performed with this method prevents premature ejaculation later” are therefore rumors not based on evidence.

What is premature ejaculation related to?

Premature ejaculation is not a circumcision problem in itself; it is mostly a matter that requires psychological and psychiatric assessment. If such a complaint occurs in adulthood, a urology or psychiatry specialist is consulted.

What is the main goal of circumcision?

The main goal is a neat appearance with which the child will be satisfied with his own penis. For this, the procedure needs to be performed carefully. Conditions such as a buried penis can be managed better with circumcision at a young age. For children who come at a later age, the aim is likewise to reach a neater appearance as soon as possible; the child's feelings about circumcision should also be kept in mind during this process.
